Now that spring is upon us, Walk to School Wednesday (weather permitting) at the Lincoln has started up!  Walk to School increases student physical activity, allows students of all ages to enjoy walking together in the morning, and decreases pollution.  We’re especially appreciative of physical education teacher Ms. Feeney for organizing this event for us.  For information, including a map that details starting places, click here.  We hope to see you walking with us!

The Boston Bruins came to the Lincoln for an all school pep rally!  Special thanks to Lincoln Lions PE teacher, April Feeney, for organizing this event for us.  Our students really enjoyed it.

On Monday, December 10, the Lincoln PTA hosted the annual Snowflake Festival in the cafeteria.  Lincoln families attended and enjoyed winter treats, activities, and crafts.  The money raised will be used to support student programming.  Special thanks to our families and staff who attended.  We are also grateful to our PTA for making this event successful year after year.

This week, the Lincoln is celebrating Computer Science Education Week!  Our students in grades kindergarten through grade five are participating in the Hour of Code.  The Lincoln kids are learning about sequencing, debugging, operators, variables, and conditionals.  Our fourth and fifth graders are even creating their own dance party on the CODE.org platform.  Best of all, our kids are learning to be 21st Century thinkers while persevering when faced with a difficult task.

The first graders in Mrs. DeSisto's class had fun practicing their mouse skills and double digit addition during computer class today.

Last Thursday, two nurses from Boston Children’s Hospital visited the Lincoln and taught our students yoga!  Though it was new to the majority, our kids picked up the basics fast.  They learned about stretching, calm breathing, and strategies to relax.  The visit was a great way to supplement many of the SEL strategies that are happening in our classrooms.  Special thanks to physical education teacher Ms. Feeney for coordinating this event.

On Tuesday, the Lincoln kids celebrated the 100th day of school!  Our students created projects, posters, and dioramas to celebrate the event.  During recess, classes worked on a 100th Day of School scavenger hunt.  One hundred day games also went home for students and their families to enjoy.  Special thanks to our math coach, Mrs. Chesna, for organizing the event.  Check out lots of the K-3 projects @RPS_Lincoln.

The kids in @egferrante's classroom love their new lunchboxes.  Thanks, @ZIPITstore!
